Mr. Frias enters his 17th year as GV Principal and 23rd year as a district administrator. Prior to that, he was an AP at Mojave High School for two years and Principal there for three. Before beginning his administrative career he began as a 5th grade elementary teacher. He taught elementary in a small rural district in Northern California named Maxwell Elementary for four years before moving to Maxwell High School for five years. He taught PE, Pre Algebra, English, Health and Applied Math while at Maxwell High School. During this nine year span at Maxwell HS, Mr. Frias was the varsity boys head football coach, varsity boys or girls basketball head coach and Athletic Director. While an administrator in the Hart District, Mr. Frias served two years at Sierra Vista Junior High and two years at Canyon High School as an assistant principal. He came to Golden Valley as an assistant principal in 2005. Mr. Frias became Principal of Golden Valley in July of 2007. Student achievement continues to be the focal point of his leadership. Through open communication, shared responsibility and clear measurable goals the desire is to continue to improve student achievement and a student's overall sense of accomplishment. "I am truly blessed and proud to be the principal of Golden Valley High School." Mr. Frias attained his Administrative Credential and Master's Degree from CSU, San Bernardino. He attained his teaching credential and BA from CSU Chico. Mr. Frias is the proud father of his 16 year old son, Ace, and 12 year old daughter, Ava. He is married to Jennifer, who is an English Learner teacher and the EL Coordinator at La Mesa Jr. High School.
