About DEI
Purpose: To provide a collaborative group dedicated to learning, problem-solving, and supporting students by giving a voice to the diversity on our campus.
Mission Statement
At Golden Valley, we stand in the belief that humanity is at its strongest when people are fairly valued and held in the highest regard. We are committed to a culture that is accepting. We are committed to addressing racist, sexist, ableism and prejudice actions as a fundamental harm to our community and the individuals that make that community. Our student body and faculty aim to embrace our diversity and make unity a strong characteristic of our school just as our slogan emphasizes. We work to develop an environment in which students and faculty have the resources and voice to speak up about any social injustice on and off campus. Golden Valley believes that by educating our school community we can bring ourselves closer to achieving unity.
Goals:
- Ensure that all students feel safe in our campus communities
- Providing supportive structures to ensure the entire campus is represented and heard
- Making a safe space for student voice that leads to a roadmap for change
- Develop agency and compassion
